Albatros D.III
The Albatros D.III was a biplane fighter aircraft used by the Luftstreitkräfte during World War I. The D.III was flown by many top German aces.These include Wilhelm Frankl, Erich Löwenhardt, Manfred von Richthofen, Karl Emil Schäfer, Ernst Udet, and Kurt Wolff.

D.III entered service in 1916. In the first few months German pilots said that the aircraft had great maneuverability and rate of climb.
Approximately 1866 where built during the war.
Albatros D.III was used for destroying enemy balloons and airplanes.
From the canopy pilots reported they had good vision all round.
The Design for the Albatros was based on the French Nieuport 11.
It was armed with 2 MG08 Machine Guns.
