BL 60-Pounder Gun Mk VI-VIII
The Ordnance BL 60-pounder was a British 127 mm heavy field gun designed in 1903-05. It stayed in service with British and Commonwealth forces in the peace times between WW1 and WW2. It was finally Retired in 1942 by Britain and South Africa.

On the original model it could fire 9.4 KM but with the last it could fire 14.2 KM
At the end of the First World War there where no BL-60's in the UK they were all abroad. 74 where on the Western Front
3 in Italy, 11 in Macedonia, seven in Palestine, and 4 in Iraq.
When the Gun Fired the carriage carrying it did not roll back, this was very uncommon at the time.
With an Experienced Gun crew the weapon could fire 2 shells a minute.
Mechanical towing by Holt Tractors and later motor lorries took over from horses towards the end of the First World War.
After the First \world War most of the Guns where sent to Africa.
