Facts
The most famous pilot to be at the controls of a Fokker Dr.1 was the Red Baron.
The Fokker DR.1 had a better turning rate compared to the British Sopwith due to being a Triplane not a biplane. It had a better turning rate due to that third wing which gave extra lift.
The Fokker DR.1 gave even better maneuverability than the Albatros.
When the aircraft took off pilots had difficulty seeing where they where going due to the aircraft not being on a Trike landing gear system.
The Fokker DR.1 had continuous wing failures so large orders from the German Government never really happened.
Many of the post-war aircraft design and technology was based on the Fokker DR.1 and other German Aircraft.
